Workshop on science communication
Science communication ≠ science communication.
Knowledge can be communicated in many different ways. Whether newspaper articles, discussion events, or learning labs, the goal, format, and target audience are completely different, and yet good science communication always requires the same ingredients.

In this workshop, we will address the overarching principles of science communication and answer questions such as “What exactly is science communication? What forms of science communication are there? How do I define my target audience?”
In the second part, we will look at practical examples of proven methods of writing and text structuring, as well as key rules for good communication. We will also discuss typical stumbling blocks in science journalism and science communication. Using examples, we will analyze why some texts work and others do not.
The aim of the workshop is to give you a better understanding of why certain communication formats work or don't work for certain impact goals and target groups, to help you communicate more clearly, precisely, and effectively, and to enable you to convey your scientific content to your audience more efficiently and confidently.
The workshop is free of charge for Scimpact Fellows and Reatch members.
Those interested can purchase a Reatch membership for 30 CHF (for students) or 70 CHF and participate in the workshop.
