reatch (research and technology in switzerland) is the independent think tank for science, technology, and society. We promote a science-friendly culture which embraces the potential of science and technology to solve societal problems. At the same time, we aim to mitigate any risks that could emerge from the blind and uncritical adoration of scientific values.

In a short talk, Servan Grüninger, co-founder and president of Reatch, is going to present the goals of Reatch and explains why he believes that scientists must actively, but prudently engage in societal and political discussions. In addition, he will give a quick overview over Reatch’s activities since its inception in 2014 and present some ongoing outreach and science policy projects.

The talk is followed by an apéro and an open discussion.
