Our societies have been shaken by pandemics, energy crises and inflation in recent years. And we know that further challenges await us in the years ahead. Climate change, technological progress and the aging of the population are likely to change our society and our economy significantly.
However, challenges for the future of work and the economy do not only arise from technological change. Many people would like to better reconcile work and family life, for example, or choose a more flexible transition to retirement. And gender equality in terms of wages or career opportunities has not yet been fully achieved, even though progress has been made in recent decades.
